Kimberly Gonzales, or lovingly referred to as “Kim,” is the 2021 Kade’s Klassic recipient. Kim
Gonzales was diagnosed with invasive stage three breast cancer in November 2019. In the early stages of her diagnosis, she underwent extensive medical procedures in order to keep the cancer localized to where the tumor was initially found. After her initial diagnosis, she endured twelve weeks of chemotherapy. In May of 2020, Kim received a double mastectomy and lymph node removal. However, her procedure led to a complication where she survived an arterial bleed post-surgery. This complication led to an unanticipated double recovery time. Following her surgery in May, Kim later completed extensive radiation treatments for the summer of 2020.
After her strenuous and incredibly challenging journey, Kim was announced cancer free in
September of 2020.
Aside from working at the United States Post Office as a Rural Carrier for seventeen years, Kim milked a small herd of Brown Swiss dairy cows alongside her husband, Jason, for almost twenty years. Kim and Jason raised their three daughters, Addy, Alexandria, and Aren on their farm in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. If you know Kim personally, then you know her kind, gracious, hard-working and incredibly selfless character. She handled her journey with bravery and grace and continues to share her positivity and kindness.
The Gonzales family expresses immeasurable gratitude for the gift that is Kade’s Klassic.
