Dolly is a bright and joyful 5-year-old from Wisconsin who faces challenges most of us cannot imagine. She has UNC-80 Deficiency, an extremely rare and severe autosomal recessive neurodevelopmental disorder that causes significant developmental and intellectual delays and an absence of speech. She relies on a wheelchair for mobility and receives nutrition through a feeding tube. With only twenty documented cases of UNC-80 Deficiency worldwide, there is little research and very few answers. For Dolly’s family, this means navigating a future filled with uncertainty while fighting every day to give their daughter the best life possible.
Dolly is a happy kid who loves spending time with her two older sisters, Raelynn and Loretta. She currently attends Lakeland school and recently even received Student of the Month! Her parents, Clay and Ashley, were born and raised on dairy farms in Southeast Wisconsin, and continue to raise their girls surrounded by the the same strong agricultural community. Raelyn and Loretta show swine and goats at the Walworth County Fair, and Dolly is always there cheering them on.
